I'm excited to share with you a gorgeous free pattern and charity sewing opportunity. Sandra Lister, the designer behind Foot Loose & Fancy Free Patterns is launching a brand new line of craft, accessory, and home decor patterns under the new name Ola Jane, and to celebrate, she is offering this brand new pillowcase pattern for free.
The pattern features several sizes, from travel all the way up to king size, and has several unique trim options inside the tutorial. There are other free pillowcase patterns out there, but I have never seen any with so many great options to customize your look. Not only that, but it also has a safety pocket built in that keeps the pillow from sliding out of the pillowcase! Genius!
Sandra's release of this free pillowcase pattern this week is perfect timing because there are two wonderful projects going on right now for charity that need pillowcases for donation, and we would really love it if you would download the pattern and sew up a pillowcase to send. Both of these projects will be sending out pillowcases to children in hospitals and/or foster homes. We all have a little extra fabric in our stash, don't we?
Wouldn't it be great if a child could go to sleep knowing they were loved because of your donation?
Cyber Elves Give Back will be providing children in 8 hospitals across the country with pillowcases this spring. The delivery will be during the Easter holiday and the deadline is April 5th. Please send your pillowcases to:
Ruby Lynn Schmer
Cyber Elves Give Back
1720 Mars Hills Rd. 8-366
Acworth, GA 30101
Another wonderful project is the Hopeful Threads 1st Quarter Project. They are collecting pillowcases (and other hygiene items) for children in the foster care system. The deadline for the 1st Quarter project is March 31st, 2014. Mail donations to:
c/o Echelon Florist
1260 Rocky Hill Road
Knoxville, TN 37919
We hope you enjoy this free pattern and, if you are able, please consider donating a pillowcase to one of the above projects.
