Happy Leap Day!!  So excited to be rounding out this amazing month of Sew Yourself Some Love!  It’s been awhile since i’ve shared, life has been so crazy so it’s fitting that I got to take a few minutes (or hours) to make something for myself.

Keeping with my hectic life, I decided to make something that could go from work, to running the kids, to teaching classes at the studio.  With so much going on, I need to keep a simple wardrobe and I love how I can accomplish that making items myself.  Not to mention, without breaking the bank.

I’ve been really wanting to try Jalie for myself for awhile now and the hype is definitely real!  Everything I heard, that pieces go together perfectly, the fit is spot on, it’s all true.  I went with the Jalie Eleonore Pants (3461).  They are a pull on pant, made with stretch denim or twill.  I tapered the legs in as directed on the diagram to make them a skinnier leg and used the cropped length.  I found this aqua stretch denim on the red tag shelf at Joann’s, pants for under $12, not too shabby, right?

The top is the See Kate Sew Dreamer Top.  I made a quick and really simple modification to the back to add the lace inset.  I also used the same stretch lace for the sleeve bands.  I have a tutorial posted on my own blog today on how to add the inset.  For the main part of the top I used a stretch french terry also from Joann’s.
