I need to get on making one for myself!!!  But here is Erin to share hers with you....

Hi all! I'm Erin from BEEkeeper's Boutique. I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom to 3 awesome kids and sewing is my favorite thing. Ever. Before I get to the meat and potatoes of this review I need to be honest with everyone. I hate sewing for myself! I have made myself 2 different tops before this one and both were epic, and I mean EPIC failures. First of all I am short and chubby ;) with super broad shoulders so there aren't many flattering styles and second of all I just really love sewing for my kids. My daughter is almost 3 and she's so beautiful that I never want to stop sewing for her. I even like making my boys cool shorts more than I enjoy selfish sewing. Even so when I saw the Lucy Slope Tank Top from GreenStyle Creations I knew  that I wanted to make it. I mean it looks so fun not to mention cool for the super hot summer that is somehow skipping Indiana at the moment.

This tank top is so fast to put together. I printed and taped the pattern together last night and it printed and lined up perfectly.  I read through the whole pattern and was really impressed with the tutorial and even though it looked like it would be easy I was still afraid that it would be a mess like every other thing I have sewn for myself. I was so excited to get started but I had to wait until my daughter took her nap. While she was sleeping I traced the pattern, cut it out and sewed it in less than an hour. I couldn't believe how quickly it came together and on top of all that I didn't make a single error because the instructions were so simple to follow there was nothing for me to mess up.

Then the moment of truth came.........I had to try it on. Let's be honest, I was scared and didn't even want to look in the mirror. I walked through the living room and my 8 year old son who wouldn't even notice if I shaved my head stopped to ask if I made the shirt. When I told him I had he was totally impressed and said it looked like I had bought it at the store. Then  Ellie told me I had to make her one because I looked like the Little Mermaid. Now that might be stretching it a bit but I'll take it. :) Finally I made it to the full length mirror and although I am never in love with looking in the mirror I was in love with this tank top. It actually fit really well. I measured my bust and went with the size given even though it was one size smaller than I usually buy at the store and it was right on. It's the perfect length, it's modest and I don't have cleavage hanging out everywhere plus it doesn't hug my rolls like most knit does.

Lastly, it is super comfortable. I decided to wear a ribbed tank top under it but I also tried it by itself and it looks great either way. I made mine out of super thin knit that rolls everywhere and it still holds it shape. I'm so excited that I've found something to use for all of that super thin knit that I've had laying around with no purpose forever. Now I am planning on buying all of the GreenStyle Creations patterns I can get my hands on.

Can I just say that I love seeing these garment on 'real' women, and it totally looks better than what I can find at stores!!!  Here's a little peak at a fun variation our other reviewer Nicole whipped up.

Seriously - $4 smackers, today only... go get your selfish sewing on!
