Be Edgy Dress by Ellie and Mac

Birds are chirping, the grass is turning green, and we are getting little spurts of warm weather. My heart is going pitter patter as I see all of the amazing spring patterns release! The Be Edgy Dress by Ellie and Mac caught my eye with it’s three layers of ruffles and unique one shoulder style made with knit. I’ve sewn several Ellie and Mac patterns and love her easy to understand directions and very clear photos.

The Be Edgy Dress comes in sizes 12-18 months to 12 girls. There are only four pages to print as the measurements for the skirt are in the cutting chart. This pattern is much faster to complete if you have a serger, however it is doable with only a sewing machine. There are tips and instructions on hemming with either machine.

It is always refreshing to see a pattern that is appealing to both the younger girls and the older girls, and I believe this pattern is just that! My three year old gave the Be Edgy Dress the spinning stamp of approval! I used cotton lycra, and she talked about how comfortable the neckband was with it being a one-shouldered dress. I made a size 2 chest and waist with a 3 length. We had no issues with the dress falling down or becoming loose after hours of twirling. The fit was great for her.

If you enjoy sewing with knit or you want to try out a knit pattern, the Be Edgy Dress would be a great one to add to your pattern collection!
