Having Holiday Fun - Relaxing in Style

If you could pick one day to spend anyway you wanted for the Holidays, what would you do????  Would it be a day filled with friends and wine, a day of baking cookies and doing fun crafts with the kids, or maybe...... a day relaxing, in pj's, and sewing purely for fun!

The Free Parisian Night Pajama Pants can be found in the Winter Wear Designs Fun Facebook group.  These make an awesome gift to yourself for lounge days, and since they are knit with a yoga waist, they are a great gift to give to others as well.  Check out Lisa's SUPER pair....

Hi, Lisa here, thinking about my holiday break coming up.  This might sound a little sad, but I’m sure many of you will be able to relate - when I first started thinking about the idea of “holiday fun” for this post, the first thing that popped into my head was how great it would be to have a day with nothing to do.  Now, that’s a holiday!  A day to spend with a good book, cups of tea, a lovely, quiet, empty house… a girl can dream…

My sewing project for this kind of holiday fun is a pair of very comfy pj pants, because I’m thinking of the kind of day where you spend your whole day in your pyjamas.  The Parisian Nights Pants from Winter Wear Designs are simply the most comfortable pants ever, and given the right fabric choice, you could stay in your pyjamas all day, but also be dressed quite acceptably for unexpected visitors!  They are designed for knit, with a yoga waistband, and sized for relaxed fit, as pyjama pants should be.  I’ve used this fun “Supergirl” jersey which I’ve had in my stash for a long time - this was the perfect use for it.

nd I’ll let you in on a little secret here - you can get this pattern for free by joining the Winter Wear Designs Fun Facebook group.

This pattern comes together extremely quickly - I think taping the pattern pieces together was almost the most time consuming part. Once you've done that, you can get them cut and sewn in no time, and perhaps even cut an extra pair as a last minute Christmas gift. The fit is very forgiving - this would be an easy garment to make for someone else.

I live in Australia, where we are headed into summer holidays, so my stay at home day would most likely be out on this lovely deck.  This pattern is perfect for either summer or winter - choose a lighter or heavier fabric for something cool or cozy.  There is also a pattern for a matching top and shorts for summer, which is high up on my increasingly long list of things to make.  Let’s face it - if I really had a whole day with nothing to do, I’d just keep making more things for myself!
