The Catalina by Violette Field Threads

Hi there!  It’s Kari from That's-Sew-Kari sharing one of Violette Field Threads’ new swimwear patterns . The Catalina Swimsuit is a one piece swimsuit with a faux collar, tie, and optional keyhole.  There are also optional flutters on the straps and ruffles at the legs. Unfortunately for me, my girls are past the ruffles and requested the suits sans ruffles.

My girls were both really excited about this suit because they cannot really fit one-piece suits from the store.  Because I sew, I am able to tailor the pattern to their width (5) and their heights (6 & 7).

My older daughter requested the keyhole and my younger daughter requested one without it.  Both suits came together really easily! I have declared this the summer of swimwear because I have now sewn like 6 or 7 suits and before this summer, I had sewn none. HA!

The girls have made quite the statement at our neighborhood pool, wearing their custom mama-made swimwear.  When they walked in for the photoshoot, a family friend asked why they weren’t wearing suits I had made. The girls replied, We are!!  Friend couldn’t believe that I had made these suits. (Totally worth staying up until 3 am finishing the 2nd one).
