AD Challenge: Noisy Dirt Cargo Shorts by Koda Baby

It is really wonderful to be back on Pattern Revolution and to take part in another Aspiring Designers Challenge.

I have four children, 3 boys (aged 13, 2 and 4m) and 1 girl (aged 4).  Having my last two boys so close together, it is really fun to have them dressed in matching outfits.  I had designed several skirts for my daughter, Koda, so I thought it was finally time to get to work on designing for my boys.  That is the start of Noisy Dirt (by Koda Baby).  My 2 year old is a classic example of the definition of boys "noise with dirt on it".  I can never keep him clean and he is always on the move and making some sort of noise - hence....Noisy Dirt.

My new pattern being released today, the Noisy Dirt Cargo Shorts, feature large cargo pockets with gussets.  These can hold huge amounts of 'stuff' that boys insist are so important to carry around!  There are also two welt pockets on the back for extra 'stuff'.  They are designed to come to just below the knee or mid shin and the crotch sits a little bit lower than standard shorts - more "slouch" style.  I have written the pattern to have them resemble 'cut offs' or 'designer fray' on the bottom hem and also on the belt loops.

I had a fantastic time in testing the pattern.  I worked with some really wonderful, generous women who did such an amazing job with each of their cargo shorts.  Some even made girly versions just to show that girls can totally rock these cargos.....and they so do!!

The Noisy Dirt Cargos currently come in sizes 3m to 8.  I cannot wait to see what people create from my pattern .  You can buy the Noisy Dirt Cargos from my Etsy store for the special price of $8 AUD (normally $11 AUD).  This special price will last until 29 May.  Or you can register to win a free copy in the competition below! There is also a tween/teen sizes range coming soon (sizes 9 - 18).  They are still in testing but the release will be posted up in my boutique page. Please come and join us at Koda Baby Boutique and share your creations made from Koda Baby patterns. It is a closed group so that you can safely post photos up of your beautiful babies and that they are only seen by those who are there for the same reason. I look forward to seeing you there!!
