I'm dusting off this blog in honor of a project that I'm so grateful to be a part of. If you haven't already been following, The Designer's Challenge is a group of more than 20 pdf pattern designers who were given the task of coming up with a unique, new design. Our goal was to bring you something you've never seen before. With only a few days left in the challenge, I'm release my Mouse Manor Twirl Skirt!

Whew! I am so excited to be finally writing this post! I think I really took the "challenge" part of the Designer's Challenge to heart. Now, I try to challenge myself a bit with every new pattern that I release. I try to include something new to me to keep things interesting. Since this was a challenge I thought I would step it up, and step it up I did!

Hi everyone! I'm Shannon, blogger over at Little Kids Grow and the designer behind the new line of sewing patterns called Peaches and Peanuts.

When I read about this challenge, I knew I had to be a part of it.  I am currently a children’s clothing designer under the business name Snails N Tails Boutique, but I’ve longed to design my own patterns for quite some time.  I’ve actually been designing my own patterns for years, but only for use in my clothing business.  A few months ago, I mentioned to a friend that I wished I could make patterns to sell.  She informed me that I had been creating my own patterns for years and there was no reason why I couldn’t sell them.  That sparked a great interest in learning exactly how the process worked.  The challenge for me was to actually learn how to put it into pdf format.  Well, that was much easier said than done.  

Well, it's here! I'm finally releasing my third pattern and I couldn't be more excited about this one! The Kudzu has been swirling around in my mind for months and when I found out about the Designer's Challenge posed by many PDF pattern designers, I just knew this would be my challenge pattern. And what a challenge it became! When I had Ollie I was suddenly very aware of the lack of patterns out there for sibling outfits. I wanted to create something that was a unique shape and style, but was also unisex, highly customizable, could be worn in any season, and was fast to sew together. And guess what! I did it. And I'm in love.

It's my turn to reveal my Designer's Challenge pattern -- meet the Hide 'n Go Seek Hoodie! The challenge put out to the participating designers was to really strive to design something new and unique. I have had the idea for this pattern floating around in my head for quite some time, and this was just the push I needed to actually bring it to life!

Last week I posted about the Designer's Challenge going on at Pattern Revolution. Today is finally my turn to release the new design! The Sweet Allie dress!
