I'm always looking for new patterns to sew for my 3 girls.  My latest project that I was asked to sew and review is the Shirred Swing Top, Sundress, and Maxi by AiviloCharlotte Designs.

Even though this pattern has shirring, it's a great pattern for a beginner or someone who is looking for a cute and quick project.

I love when patterns provide options.  With this pattern, you can make a top, a knee length sundress, or a full length maxi dress.  You also have the option of adding a ruffle or leaving it off.  I have a girly girl so this was an easy choice.

Fabric requirement and sizing charts are included.  My dress ran true to size and fits her nicely.  It's also comfortable and perfect for those warm weather days.

This pattern provides measurements for cutting out your pieces.  Once you have everything cut out it's just a matter of following the clearly written directions and sewing everything together.  To help, color photos are provided so you can check your steps along the way.

I enjoy picking fabrics and using different color combinations but this could be made with one color or different fabric combinations for the various pieces.

One of my favorite things about this pattern was the shirring.  Usually pattern designers have you sew and stop at the end of each row.  Then you start a new row.  With this pattern you are given directions for continuous shirring without the need to stop between each row.

One thing I did add to the pattern is topstitching.  It's not something that is required but I like that detail.

As you can see, my daughter is thrilled with her new summer dress.  Yay!
