My name is Theresa. I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom of six. I taught myself to sew about two years ago and sew every free moment that I get. I enjoy testing patterns, writing reviews and getting to know some awesome designers! This week, I had the pleasure of making The Ceci Shorts by Petite Kids Boutique.  I was very excited when this pattern showed up in my inbox because I tested this pattern and have been following the designer and she puts together fabulous patterns/tutorials!  I am smitten with all of Petite Kids patterns! I think I've sewn up nearly every one of them!

The tutorial/pattern downloaded and printed easily.  The pattern pieces matched up perfectly and are color-coded for each of the different sizes for easy cutting.  The shorts came together quickly and easily.  The tutorial is very thorough, clear, and easy to follow.  Color photos are included to aid in the understanding of the instructions.  The instructions are so detailed and the photos so clear that even a novice can make these. The pattern runs true to size.  It has a comfortable elastic waist.  These shorts are embellished with super cute, big pleated pockets and cuffs that tie at the sides. I cut and sewed the cuffs according to the measurements in the chart, but instructions are included for lengthening the cuffs/ties in case you would prefer to tie them in a bow instead of a knot. You can even opt to leave off the cuffs and/or pockets for even more variations.

These shorts are so versatile. They look cute styled casually with a summery t-shirt or tank, They would also look great paired with a blouse or tunic for a more dressy style. I only used one fabric for my pair,  but these shorts can be made with more if you use different coordinating and contrasting  fabrics for the shorts, pockets, pocket bindings and leg cuffs. You can get creative with your fabrics! I will definitely be making a variety of them for my daughter’s summer wardrobe!
