Hi Pattern Revolution fans!  It is Crystal here, from Stitched by Crystal, here to share an awesome swimsuit pattern with you!

Summer is my favorite time of year.  For us, summer means lots of pool and beach time...which means lots of swimsuits!  Ever since I made my first swimsuit last year, I have been hooked.  This year, all my daughters suits have been made by me!  I was excited to add a new pattern to my growing swimsuit pattern collection, I picked out the My Childhood Treasures Leotard # 7.

This was the first pattern I have sewn from My Childhood Treasures and I was really impressed!  The pattern is easy to follow.  The instructions are clear and they use a mixture of photos and digital illustrations that make things really clear.

If you are interested in sewing swimwear for the first time, I would really recommend this pattern.  The pattern includes pages and pages of tips to help things go smoothly, everything from picking fabric and supplies to cutting your fabric, to sewing with lycra.  There are even detailed tips for sewing with either a serger or a regular machine.

And let’s talk about the fit...it is great!  The pattern has a measurement chart to help you choose a size, but it also has a length chart.  You pick your size, then check your little ones length and adjust the pattern accordingly, you will end up with a perfectly fitting suit!

he pattern has 3 views, one with elastic straps, one with fabric halter straps, and one with an adorable big bow on the front.  It also has an option for a gathered front.  I picked the gathered front and fabric halter straps, but ended up sewing the straps down in the back when my daughter objected to having them tied behind her neck.

I am so happy with the way this suit turned out!  I have already started on my second Leotard # 7 and am thinking about picking up another My Childhood Treasures Leotard pattern for more swimwear sewing this summer, I’ve got my eye on this cute skirted one!  I hope you have been inspired to sew some swimwear this summer!
