Super G Tights by Greenstyle

Hi all, Tasha from Sewn at Seams here to share with you my latest pair of workout tights!  I used the Super G pattern from Greenstyle patterns and I am loving the gusset style used in this pattern.  I have bought and made lots of workout tights patterns and the one thing they all have in common is a gusset.  I don’t want to be worried about popping seams while doing lunges or squats and I was immediately drawn to the design of this pattern.

I am a fan of the different inseam lengths offered in the pattern as well as the option to have a  lower the rise. Having a short torso I tend to prefer a lower rise so I really appreciated this being included in the pattern.  Additionally the different inseams lengths and lengthen/shorten markings made it easy to choose a length that would meet my workout needs.

I used a basic black athletic fabric for my tights and for the gusset, pocket, and outer waistband pieces I used a swim fabric with a fun mermaid scales design.  It was a great and easy way to add a fun design to these leggings pattern. I also choose to add the pocket to these pair. I workout at a gym but usually run errands afterwards and I like having pockets to hold my keys and such without having to have a purse.  These two fabrics worked well together since they are similar weight and dry quickly.

I really like the different options included in the pattern.  The gusset is the selling point and you can certainly have fun with using different color fabrics or mixing solids and print, but you can make a solid color pair and still have an awesome and very functional pair of workout tights. I’m excited to make more and see how many different combinations I can come up with!

Weatherly's Version:

Hey Everyone! It’s Weatherly from Love & Lilies Designs and I am beyond excited to share with you the Greenstyle Super G leggings.  Okay, so I’ll be honest… at this point I have tried quite a few legging patterns; some I love, some are okay. Believe me when I say that these leggings are amazing!  Seriously, I can’t get over the fit and functionality of them! So let’s get down to the what’s what in this pattern.

The Super G leggings options:

  • Sizes XXS - 3XL

  • Three inseam lengths to choose from (26, 29, 32)

  • Mid Rise and High Rise Waist

  • No Pocket/No Side Seams or Two Side Pocket Version

The leggings also have a long gusset.  A couple of things I really appreciate about this pattern are the layer printing option and the line pictures and color pictures that accompany the wording directions to help alleviate any possible confusion.

For my leggings I used heavy supplex and chose to do the high rise waist with a 26 inseam and the no pocket/no side seam version.  I am obsessed with the fit! The high waist hits at exactly the right point where I feel like there is coverage without being uncomfortable and the elastic in the top of the waist is a nice way to help keep the pants in place, especially when using these for working out.  The one thing I did a little differently on mine is I chose to not hem the bottom. Being shorter, I went with the shortest inseam available and I like the look of unhemmed material like swim, heavy supplex, etc. I personally can not wait to make so many more of these!
