The Adele and Rose patterns from Jalie

Hey y’all, it’s Jackie.  I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve been able to show y’all what i’ve been making.  Like many of you, I hard core stalked the new Jalie collection. I seriously want every pattern in the collection and I am working my way through them.  My top two favorites from this collection are the Adele and the Rose patterns.

The Adele is a fabulous flutter sleeve blouse with a relaxed fit.  I made one for Miss Ten in a size O. Her measurements often require blending but given the relaxed fit of this piece, I cut and sewed a straight size for her.  This way she can wear it a little longer. The ties help to achieve the fit you like at the waist.

I made this version out of a beautiful white eyelet. It just screams summer!  It’s so versatile that it can pair well with any bottoms, and can even make old jeans look snappy.

The Rose Sleeveless Button Down Shirt also has a relaxed fit, which is perfect for me since I *never* tuck shirts in.  There are some options to choose from when making your version of the Rose: a cleanly bound armhole, a partially bound armhole with a shoulder ruffle, and a tie at the neck.

I experimented with the shoulder ruffle, but ultimately decided I wanted a blouse with minimal frills. The coral Swiss dot I used would be feminine enough on its own. I normally blend from a U to W when sewing Jalie patterns for myself, but I was able to sew a straight U given the relaxed fit of the blouse.  I did shorten it by 2.5 inches, but I do that a lot. Crazy, right, since I’m sooo tall?!?! But my height is all in my legs, and my torso truly is on the shorter side. I paired it with a pair of Jalie Jeans/Elenore hybrid capris and it’s nothing but love.
