Aspiring Designer: Golden Rippy

Hey ya'll I'm so happy to share the Calrose skirt with you today. But first I have to thank the wonderful Betties for the opportunity to be a part of the Aspiring Designer's Challenge and for all of their support. There are so many awesome ladies to learn from and bounce ideas off of. I've made some wonderful friends in that group. I also want to thank Pattern Revolution for promoting new and upcoming designers. This is such a wonderful little segment to learn about new designers and they truly are helping grow the pattern revolution. Thank you!

Alrighty wonderful gals and guys, I think introductions are in order. Hi, I'm Rachel from Golden Rippy. ;) Here's a little bit about me. I'm a work-at-home mom to 4 awesome kids. I have a wonderful husband that puts up with my growing fabric stash and doesn't mind the printer spitting out paper at all odd hours of the day. I actually graduated with my degree in Fashion Design and Production while I was pregnant with my first baby. That was fun. I had a lot of night classes back then. Hah.

The Calrose skirt is the answer to "I want something knit without zippers". A lot of ladies are intimidated by zippers, knit fabric and buttons. So this eases you into knits. I can't take away your fears of zippers or buttons yet, so I excluded them from this pattern. :)

It's a cute pencil skirt that can be dressed up with a thick knit for the winter and office. And if you're feeling particularly flirty you can make it with the ruffles for a date night or out on the town. It's a super soft and comfy skirt. The only limit is your imagination. Try it in ombre, or mix it up with stripes or dots.
