Little Birdy Top and Flare Pants by Laela Jeyne Patterns

Hello again! It's Rebekah again from Rebekah Sews bringing you another cute outfit for you little girl. I am excited about today's as it has a vintage feel to it and, well, I'm an old soul and LOVE vintage.

Take a look at the Laela Jeyne Little Birdy Vintage Outfit that offers a top and dress and flare pants; both of which are by Laela Jeyne Patterns. Laela Jeyne is a newer designer but definitely one that is up and coming.  She offers both girls and womens patterns. I've sewn several patterns by her and her designs are original and well put together. The Little Birdy patterns are no exception!

Both patterns offer a huge range of sizes from 6M-14yrs. The tutorials of both walk you through each step with clear photos and instructions. The pants are a quick, beginner friendly pattern that offers cuteness and comfort in one with the small pleated front, flare bottoms, and elastic waist. The top/dress is unique with its vintage style! It offers a circle skirt, gathered sleeves, lined bodice, button back and 2 collar options. The dress/top is an intermediate pattern as the unique bodice can be a little difficult to sew to get a precise point. It is worth it though as the finished results just blow your mind away!

For my pants and top I made both in the 18mo size. Both fit just as expected based on measurements. I made the pants out of jean material and just love how quick the pants are (about an hour). They are super cute and will look great with anything! Not to mention they are perfect for being cute while getting dirty! I will have to make the 12mo width next time as my girl is slim and the 18mo was a bit baggy on her. I will definitely making more of them. For my top I choose the Peter Pan collar. Boy, talk about sweetness. I also used snaps instead of buttons. A great option for those that can't find the perfect buttons (that was my case) or don't like to do button holes. The top/dress is more time consuming but worth it. I think it took me about 4hrs for my first time.

These are such cute patterns and I just love them! I will be making more for sure. I also can't wait to see what Laela Jeyne Patterns has up her sleeves. With designs like these, she is sure to be quite the contender in the PDF pattern world and one I will definitely be watching for more great styles and patterns.

Chris made an adorable version as well!
