Maddie Skirt from MODKID

We are getting ready for our summer vacation cruise and I am in full throttle vacation sewing mode, so quick and cute patterns are at the top of my list! The Maddie Skirt from MODKID certainly fits both of those categories. This fun pattern is one of MODKID's paper patterns and is right up my daughter's alley with a comfortable yoga waist band and four different style options.  I made the view D version because POCKETS (and who doesn't love pockets). She chose the version she wanted, so of course I complied.  The gorgeous fabric is from MODKID Designer Patty Young's new Primavera line from Riley Blake, and it looks amazing in this pattern!

I love when I sew something and my daughter just loves it, and that was certainly the case with the Maddie Skirt from MODKID.  When she put it on, she immediately commented on how comfortable it was (a big win for her since she finds many clothes uncomfortable).

The skirt was super quick and easy to make.  The pockets are lined, so they were really simple to turn and topstitch on.  The yoga waistband was also really quick to add.  Since the skirt was cut on the bias, it has just enough stretch to comfortably pull on but still has that pretty flat front. My skirts were made with woven fabric, but this pattern is also suitable for knits.

I also made a second, simple version of the skirt by making just the skirt with no pockets.  Talk about a quick sew! This skirt took about 20 minutes from cutting to sewing and you can't beat that!

She loves both of the skirts and I love that they were super fast and easy.  I am definitely adding this pattern into rotation for when I need a quick wardrobe booster!
