Around the Block by Ellie and Mac
/Hey guys! Maryanna here from MarvelousAuntieM. My review of the Around the Block by Ellie and Mac is a little different than the typical PR post. No made up modeled photos. You’ve been warned. There is helmet hair happening in some of them. I tried out how the Around the Block would work as a second layer for winter sports.
We are spending the winter out in Colorado again. Last winter I learned how to snowboard and I fell in love with it. Last year my second layer was a french terry hoodie. It was kind of bulky under my ski coat. I wanted something warm and less bulky for this season.
I bought some micro fleece fabric from Joann. It is thinner than the blizzard and anti-pill fleece. I made my size as determined by my bust and waist measurements. The fit of this hoodie is on the more fitted side, not baggy like a standard hoodie (and like the one I used as my second layer last year).
This hoodie made the perfect second layer. On top I have a base layer top, my Around the Block and then my ski coat. The temperature at the ski resort was 16 degrees with a feels like temp of 4. My upper body stayed nice and warm for three straight hours of snowboarding. I’m so happy with the fit and warmth of my Around the Block and it will make many many appearances on the slopes this winter.
