I let go of a lot of the holiday sewing I had planned, but I just couldn't let my daughter ride the Santa Train without making her something out of this great fabric I had found specifically for this purpose. So, I started searching through patterns trying to figure out exactly which pattern to make. And it hit me - this wanted to be a skirt, a skirt with a niche high waistband and cute little cross back straps.... it wanted to be an Animazing! Luckily the designer, Cassie, for Little Lizard King gave me the hook up!Read More
What child at some point in their life doesn't wish that they could FLY!!! I know it was always a dream of mine. My kiddos love wings (yep, all three of them, boys included), but I have found that the ones at the store last about a day in our house - or more like an hour. The flimsy frames and mesh fabric simply can't hold up to the wearing of my active children. So I have to say I was super excited to see these Butterfly Wings from Wife Made show up in my news feed. And even more excited when Marnie said that she would sew them up for the blog.
According to Marnie - these are a pretty quick sew......hmmmm, think I can fit in one more sew to my to do list before Christmas Day????Read More
So of course my brain has been in nutcracker mode, and I just had to design this cute Nutcracker doll FMA to share with all of you. He is the perfect embellishment to a T-shirt, pants leg, or pillow to decorate your home. Have an adult friend who loves nutcrackers, try framing your finished design to hang on the wall - how cute would he be framed by a wooden embroidery hoop!?!?!??Read More
As December descends upon us, it is the time of giving gifts which means that you have to come up with said gift. For me beyond budget, beyond finding time, sometimes the hardest part for me is coming up with that idea. You know the idea of what to get to give that the person will really appreciate, that they don't have a million of, and that they will remember past the 5 seconds when they open it.
Well, over the next few weeks, we will be sharing great ideas for gifts for all the people in your life. Today we are starting with an amazing gift for Teachers - notebook covers! I'll let Lisa take it over from here!!!Read More
So my favorite posts from last year were our 'The Night Before Christmas' Series. Not only were there tons of wonderful stories about Christmas Eve traditions, there were tons of fun Pajama's to share. I have been making PJ's for my kiddos and their cousins for the last three years, and it is a tradition that I hope to keep up for quite a while.Read More
